As said in my announcement blog today, I'm planning on posting a little more frequently (more than once every 7 months) here on Arwingpedia. Without further ado, the question for today:
Is Nintendo Going to Stop Making Star Fox Games?
What a thought: For a series to go from an exciting birth cradled in the newness of 3D, to explosive popularity in its sequel, to a now 20 year burnout the series hasn't recovered from. Of course, that's a very pessimistic view of Star Fox in years after Star Fox 64, but I digress. The main question encompasses Star Fox Zero's muddled reception: Will Nintendo executives, such as Shigeru Miyamoto, repeat their enthusiasm felt in months leading up to Zero's release, or instead wait years before touching t…Read more >
After months of absence, I have recently considered leaving Arwingpedia due to my increased work-schedule. I am now glad to say that I'm going to break my hiatus, and hopefully return to fairly regular blogs here on the wiki. I'm not setting a schedule for my blogs to release because I have a fairly erratic real life schedule, so they'll release when I have time for them.
Below is a list of topics that I have ambition to cover within this year:
- Individual team character anthology
- Further speculation topics similar to that seen in my 2015 era blogs
- Eventual Star Fox Zero review, once I 100% it
- Reports on interesting Star Fox related fan projects
If I get a request for a blog topic, I'll gladly review and consider writing about it. Sorr…

Greetings, I am the Son of Andross (not really). It's no secret that Nintendo is a company with a worldwide influence and legacy that has great ease in selling products. Merchandise is a large key in promoting popular franchises (Movies, TV, Comics), with the more obvious choices for Nintendo's franchises (Mario, Zelda, Pokemon) doing very well with selling products. And it is one figure from Jakks Pacific that is of particular interest to Star Fox fans, none other than Fox McCloud himself, the first real Star Fox action figure released.
Looking back, this would not have been the first Fox McCloud action figure if things hadn't gone pear shaped back in the early 2000's. Toysite, a company that made Nintendo Products previously, announced that…

Hey all! DS here.
Basically, I just wanted to show off some Star Fox-based music that I've made recently and hope to get your opinions on!
Star Fox 64 - Main Theme [Epic Orchestral/Cinematic Trailer Arrangement]
By far my favorite thing I've done so far, it's just great listening to this typically corny fanfare with Inception BWAOMs blasting
Star Fox 64 - Main Theme [Emotional Piano Arrangement]
I recorded myself playing this at 6:45 in the morning, so don't judge too hard plz :P
Star Fox Assault - Space Battleground [Live Piano Cover]
Funny story: The mic in the piano actually isn't recording anything, and that's why the sound quality's just a bit off XD
Dark Hero - Star Wolf Theme for String Quintet
I wrote this "unconventional" arrangement of th…

Hey all.So, Star Fox Zero has finally released, marking the first original Star Fox game since Star Fox Command 10 years ago. This game (and its spinoff) mark the second installment the Arwingpedia has seen in her lifetime, so a round of applause for Star Fox Zero!
Now, as part of the Arwingpedia's need to keep you, the Star Fox fan informed, we've partnered with the Youtuber AbdallahSmash026 to get you immediate 100% completion coverage from head to toe of Zero's campaign. Without further ado, start the video below to get started.
Check out our previous blog detailing AbdallahSmash026's Star Fox Zero sweepstakes! (Or go straight to the sweepstakes here!)
On the eve of Star Fox Zero's release, I shall publish the final review in my retrospective review series. Without further ado, this is: Star Fox Command for the Nintendo DS.
To be fair, I've only beat Command once. It was probably the most mixed game I've played in the Star Fox series, and while it's features are in stark contrast to that of Adventures, I'd rate it similarly.
Like Adventures, I'm pretty mixed here, but on completely different aspects. Command is the farthest you can get from Adventures. Command is a turn based strategy game similar to the Galactic Conquest mode in Star Wars Battlefront II.
Similar in every way to the canceled Star Fox 2, Command pushes the limits of the DS to bring a rare look into a fully working…

Yes, yes, yes. It is that time again, to hear me critique Star Fox games, good and bad alike. Unlike my last review, I am going to be a bit more relaxed on the game at hand. I am cutting it close to the release date of Star Fox Zero, so without further ado let us get this series done.
So, let's get into Star Fox: Assault.
Going into this, I'd like to note that Star Fox Assault is my second favorite Star Fox game, narrowly trailing 64. However, Only have I relatively recently beat the game, so my nostalgia goggles are off (minus those sweet 64 OST remasters). I'm going to be a bit more critical on it than I originally thought, but fear not, I still really love this game.
This is a tough one. The mechanical aspect of Assault is definite…

Greetings, I am the Son of Andross (not really). With Star Fox Zero, on the horizon we administrators will write own own unbiased reviews on the Star Fox main games. This review will concentrate on my personal thoughts on: Star Fox Command (last in the post Adventures continuity since Zero appears to be starting from scratch).
Around 2-3 years after the Aparoid Invasion, the Anglar Armada is attacking the Lylat System, but Star Fox aren't around to save it this time because the team disbanded. Fox and ROB are still keeping the Star Fox business open by themselves. Pepper is in his sickbed and made Peppy his successor as General even after saying he'd retire for real. Falco is flying solo doing odd jobs but would go back to Star Fox if asked to …

Greetings, I am the Son of Andross (not really). With Star Fox Zero on the way, looking back on the last big Star Fox outing over 10 years ago seems like yesterday. This review will cover my own unbiased views on a game I've played several times. This review will concentrate on my personal thoughts on: Star Fox Assault.
Taking place one year after the events of Star Fox Adventures, Andross's whining nephew Andrew (now goes by his last name of Oikonny) is leading yet another Cornerian / Venomian battle for galactic dominance. A newly outfitted Star Fox team arrive to end this debacle over planet Fortuna, now joined by Krystal, take to the sky/space in style thanks to their service fee from saving Sauria (Dinosaur Planet).
It turns out Oikonny is th…

Greetings, I am the Son of Andross (not really). In the rundown to Star Fox Zero, we administrators will write own own unbiased reviews on the Star Fox main games. This review will concentrate on my personal thoughts on: Star Fox Adventures (was going to be called Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet, but Nintendo Official Magazine UK was mislead back then).
In contrast to the other games, the setting of the game is Dinosaur Planet (renamed Sauria in Assault), where a civil war has erupted between the inhabitant dinosaurs. The power-fueled-by-fear dictator General Scales has torn the planet apart by taking away the four SpellStones that restrain the flow of dark matter that continually force the world apart and create a new world which his tribe w…

Andross, the evil mad scientist declares war and practically conquers the Lylat System. General Pepper summons Star Fox to save Corneria and free Lylat from the evil empire of Venom. Fox McCloud is the leader and protagonist who leads his team into battle, to save the galaxy and get justice from the evil emperor who doomed his father. Hey all. Now seeing how Son of Andross has surpassed me in his own review series, I am in need to finish my own review series up. I apologize for leaving this blog empty as an April Fools joke for a week, and have meant to conclude the entire series by now. Anyway, lets jump into: "Star Fox Adventures"
As I have previously said: "It's just Ocarina of Time on the Gamecube" (even though Ocarina of Time was remastered on the Gamecube). Firstly, unlike previous entries, Star Fox Adventures takes us to the ground. To all of those who aren't familiar with OoT (or any 3D Zelda game for that matter), Adventures takes a third person perspective, with little to no emphasis on direct action.
In fact, nearly the entire game is on foot, minus a few …

Hey all! Reviewing Star Fox 64 today. Sorry that it's been a month (and two days) since I promised to continue reviewing Star Fox games in preparation for Star Fox Zero. I fully plan on finishing reviewing these games before Zero hits the shelves on April 22nd, so lets get to it!
The Review Same as the last review, I will not compare graphics of this game to graphics of today (even though this game holds up as one of the best N64 games texture wise).
Well... It's similar to Star Fox SNES. In the same way Zero is attempting to be the re-imagining of 64, 64 is the re-imagining of Star Fox SNES, only better in every way.
You control three vessels: The Arwing, the Landmaster and the Blue Marine (Or go on foot in Corneria Versus Mode if you're g…

Hey all. I apologize for this being a short blog, I promised that I'd do one today, so i'm stuck to getting it done before I go to bed. Let's jump in.
As few of you might know, the Star Fox fan project "A Fox in Space" had its patreon yanked off by Nintendo recently. It's among a lengthy list of Nintendo's recent purges of copyrighted material on YouTube (and elsewhere), but this one got me wondering.
Does Fan-Fiction harm a franchise?
Yes, your disgusting fetish fanons hurt the series, and people adamantly and undoubtedly believing that the Star Fox team have metal legs disgust most real fans of the series. However when genuine and serious work goes into said fan fiction, does it help or hurt?
In my opinion, creative ideas such as "A Fox …Read more >
Hey, welcome all!
In preparation for Star Fox Zero (Coming April 22nd), I've decided to recall some of the memories from the past glories. In todays blog, I will review Star Fox SNES.
For the review, I won't refrain from comparing graphics to other games from the same era (even if I comment on how dated they are once or twice). For the most part, I will try to focus on the core gameplay, replayability, notability, etc,.
Well, what can I say. Tied with it's sequel Star Fox 64, Star Fox SNES is probably the most famous rail shooter in existence. There's a reason or two for this, so let's get to it.
The Gameplay itself is challenging. Nothing more, nothing less. Odds are you will fail the first couple times attempting to play through it. Wi…

In todays world, we have games in every shape and size. They range from indie games, to triple A shooters, to crazy innovation. Most of these are quite fun, and hey, a lot of the Triple A ones are really replayable.
After reflecting on some of the Legend of Zelda titles from long long ago, I've thought about a topic I'd like to flesh out.
What's more replayable, Modern Triple A shooters, or Vintage "Best Games of all Time"?
For this comparison, I'm taking a few games I'm quite familiar with, and I will compare them to an older Nintendo franchise. While easily forgettable modern shooters definitely don't compare to the likes of Super Mario Bros 3 or Link to the Past, we tend to enjoy playing and adapting to their strategies.
So,…Read more >
As a typical comment reader, through websites such as Reddit and Youtube, I come across some pretty crazy ideas. People claim things ranging from believing their favorite platform is the best, to the claim that their religion, or political ideal is best. A lot of these ideas are pretty absurd, as this is the internet, but one idea I keep hearing lately drives me mad.
I hear this idea from fellow friends, gamers, non-gamers, Et Cetera.
"The end game for Nintendo ultimately is to give up their platforms, and to migrate to [Whatever Console this person prefers]."
I have heard this idea for a long time now. Xbox fans, Playstation fans, PC fans and even Mobile fans declare their platforms are the most suited for Nintendo to bring their intelle…

Awaiting the now delayed upcoming Star Fox Zero title coming in Q1 2016, and first original title since Star Fox Command in 2006, we reflect on the prior games and their facts in this episode of 1hs444's user blog.
Well, let's start out by disproving a "fact".
- Star Fox, where are your legs? As hard as it is to comprehend, but what people say on the internet isn't always true. This is the case for the metal leg theory commonly mistaken as actual verified lore in Star Fox. You see, in Star Fox for the SNES, representations in art styles were supposed to be... horrifyingly real, and with it, scary in a sense. The scary factor is brought into full force when you take a look at Fox McCloud and his crews legs, seemingly amputated in the cover …

Hello back once again to the latest installment of 1hs444's user blog! In this episode, we're talking about Star Fox Zero, and how it will go down in history with the Wii U.
So here's my Gist.
Killer apps, or hit games on a specific platform, have been churning out of Nintendo HQ for years nonstop giving us great new games on the Wii U. While Hyrule Warriors or New Super Mario Bros. U are great examples of the Wii U's explosion of first party content, all credit as of recent must go to both Nintendo's new IP "Splatoon", and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. Hot games are not only being given out by Nintendo, they're dumping out of store shelves at dangerous dates.
So, what will this mean for upcoming Star Fox Zero? Since Shiger…Read more >

Hello all, once again coming to you with a new blog, this time trying to ask the nearly unheard of question:
"Are Graphics the games equivalent to movie CGI?"
I bring this question during a time of uncertainty, as hate-mail is now targeting Star Fox Zero, and its apparent low graphic quality. Now, as more of a critic on movie CGI rather than game graphics, my opinion could be blasphemy, but please check the comparison to the right.
Unfortunately, I had to condense Star Fox Zero from a widescreen format, so if it looks compressed, apologies.
In any case, in todays age, we have movies such as Transformers , or revivals of classic originals such as the Jurassic World reboot jam-packed with Computer-Generated-Imagery (CGI). These movies tend t…Read more >

Hey Arwingpedians, 1hs444 here, to throw around another blog. The title pretty much explains my topic, but of course, I'll elaborate.
So, as many of you know, Nintendo is working on a new home console, codenamed the "NX". They've explicitly stated that this is not to replace the Wii U, so it's likely that this will be either a more or less gaming oriented device, and the third the company is simultaneously supporting. We'll hear more about the console itself at E3 2016, or perhaps one of the Nintendo Direct conferences.
Anyway, my speculative question is this. Since we're getting a Wii U reboot, will Nintendo follow up and give us a sequel on the NX? It's fairly logical to think that they would do this, if Star Fox Zero is successful eno…Read more >
Hello once again fellow Arwingpedians!
1hs444 here, and I'd like to make a proposal for weekly scheduled chat sessions for the community, as well as the administration to come together to both strengthen the community, and to resolve community issues.
Here are my main reasons for proposing such a scheduled time for a gathering the community.
- For starters, tightening the chat community. Days, weeks and even months pass without active chat users on Arwingpedia's chat. With a cohesive date for gathering, Arwingpedians can flock to the chat without confusion!
- The Wikia Community itself will strengthen with the help of a strong chat with a recurring community! More chat users means more returning editors, forum users and blog users!

Hello everyone. As everyone can (hopefully) see, Star Fox (Wii U) has been confirmed. Personally, it took me over a week to hear about the news despite IGN getting all over it. My questions are simple. Let me explain my thoughts on this, and you can add on in the comments.
- Who will return? IGN said in their report that Slippy, Falco, Peppy were in the Alpha version of the game. Honestly, I don't think that Nintendo would be stupid enough to make this game without Fox, or even moderately unimportant characters like General Pepper and Katt Monroe. Side note: Krystal isn't in the Alpha version?
- When is this taking place in canon? Honestly, if this was a prequel, I'd be very disappointed. It's been 9 years since an original Star Fox tit…
Guys, I have a theory about the future of the star fox franchise. its sad, but it could very well be true. Star Fox Command is by far no good game, but the signifigance it has in this theory is large. Nintendo hasn't exactly been taking care of this franchise, and now that I have beaten this foresaken game with all endings under my belt, I have a strange feeling. The way Star Fox Command handles its endings, letting yiu choose them, does that somehow tie in with Nintendo's lack of concern for the Star Fox franchise as of today? I mean, think about it. if Nintendo was ditching the franchise, are they doing it in a way so we choose how to end it? I will continue my investigations, and I will upload moar info as my research finds more. Pray g…Read more >
