Jumping is a common physical technique used by many video game series and characters. In the Star Fox series, Jumping is a key method of reaching higher ground or long distances and avoiding enemy attacks. Different characters are better or worse at jumping than others, for gameplay reasons.

Star Fox 64

All characters can jump in the multiplayers Pilot mode. There is not any advantage to a certain characters jumping skills.

Star Fox Adventures

Both Krystal and Fox will automatically jump across gaps when they run over them. Fox can perform evassive or offensive jumps and leaps when engaged in close combat. He will combine powerful strikes with Krystal's Staff when leaping onto SharpClaws.

Star Fox: Assault

Fox is able to jump to avoid enemy attacks, reach higher ground and gain recovery. He will leap into and out his vehicles to quickly enter the fray. In the Battle of Fortuna cutscene, the Star Fox team are seen jumping into their Arwings as they ship out into battle.

All characters can perform a jump in the multiplayer. Slippy and Peppy boast the highest jumps as they are a Frog and Rabbit.

Super Smash Bros series

Like most playable characters in the Super Smash Bros series, Fox can perform two jumps and a third can be accessed with the use of his side up special move. This allows him to reach back onto the stage if he is not knocked too far away. Falco, being taller than Fox, jumps higher. Wolf's size and weight makes his recovery much lower.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, Falco has the highest jump in the game.
