Shoot the rocks!
Peppy Hare

Lava Bombs are chunks of volcanic rock that shoot up from the surface on Solar.

Appearance

Lava Bombs emerge from Solar's surface before disappearing back into the lava. Lock on and destroy as many of the rocks that bubble out of Solar's molten surface. Most of your hit points will come from shooting these rocks. Rather than locking onto targets for your bombs, you will need to launch the bomb and manually detonate it (press B again) when it is close to the cluster of targets. Vulcain uses Lava Bombs as ammunition, and while these are not worth any Hit points, they will give out Supply Rings.

Enemy Recon

Solar's surface constantly spews up burning rocks into space. While gravity reclaims most of these molten meteors, a survey crew once captured one and made a shocking discovery: the rocks are composed of former space junk. The minerals are recycled and forged by Solar's heat into Supply Rings, Supply Stars and Smart Bombs.

History

Lava Bombs were present throughout the battle of Solar during the Lylat Wars. Shockingly, Cornerian scientists discovered that the rocks were actually composed of former space junk that were shot up towards the surface, with the insides reforged and recycled by Solar's heat into Supply rings and even Smart Bombs. With help from Bill Grey, the Star Fox Team brought down multiple lava bombs and added them to their service receipt.
