The Meteo Crusher's role in the games.

In the games

Star Fox

Under the name Rock Crusher (ロッククラッシャー), this was created by Andross for the removal of the asteroid field and even pieces of space junk as well. It uses 4 laser turrets on each side and will fire from it. Once the turrets and the base of the crusher are gone, it will also fire plasma and missiles.

Once the 4 turrets on either side are exposed (flashing red and orange) shoot them to destroy them. Once the base is taken off (when you destory all of the laser turrets) the crusher will begin to fire bigger weapons at you, shoot the ceneter to destroy it for good. If you have Nova Bombs, use them to destroy all 4 turrets on one side at once.

Asteroid Field

There are two asteroid fields, consisting of thousands of small planetoids, surrounding Corneria. These swarming chances of rocks form a dangerous natural barrier to invasion of the planet, as they must be carefully navigated through. However, Andross has developed a powerful new battleship, known as the Rock Crusher, which is capable of reducing planetoids to cosmic dust. It is up to the Star Fox Team to destroy these Rock Crushers before they can clear the way for Andross's main battle armada.

Star Fox 64/3D

During the Lylat Wars, the Star Fox team may end up encountering the Meteo Crusher when passing through Meteo to get to Fichina. It blocks their path, forcing them to take it out. It was mainly utilized to clean up messy areas of space where unwanted planets and asteroids block space lanes. Its manner of defenses are a shield on its backside that can absorb laser shots and fire three powerful blasts, missiles, ring lasers and lighting-like beams. After bringing the Meteo Crusher's strength down to half, the pilot will attempt to fool the player by faking a surrender - the pilot can blow his own cover, or Falco will expose his lies. In either case, he attempts to fire dual ring beam blasters at the Star Fox team and fire missiles at them, only for the ship to end up destroyed as a result of the Star Fox team destroying the remainder of its cores.

  • What is said shortly after the pilot fakes admission of defeat differs depending on whether Falco is present during the battle or not. If Falco is present, Falco will tell Fox not to trust him, and the pilot confirms his suspicions by stating that he isn't nearly as stupid as he looks. If Falco isn't present, he will instead finish by saying "If this does not work...!", referring to the sonic ring beam attack he was going to use upon flipping over. In any case, the deception is easily exposed if Slippy is still present as he will still be analyzing the enemy and his health bar will show 50% left.

Enemy Recon

The Crusher cleans up messy areas of space where unwanted asteroids and planets block the space lanes. It wouldn't seem like cleaning up four Arwings should be much of a problem. It's your job to see that it is.

The shield on the back side of the Crusher absorbs energy from your laser and shoots it back. It's easy to dodge if you watch for it.

When the yellow core is exposed, blast it continuously. Only the core can take damage and destroy the Crusher.
