The Shogun's role in the games.

Description[]

The Shogun Warlord mech is an ape-shaped combat space suit, armed with a blaster laser pistol and a shield. It's method of space travel is a built-in jet pack, able to create great bursts of speed and able to dodge the Arwing's combat computer. The pilot is an ape wearing an ivory helmet with twin ear covers and an ebony visor, with Andross's insignia on the crown of the helmet.

In the game[]

In Star Fox 64 and the 3DS rerelease, the Shogun warlord is the final boss of Sector Y. After the destruction of the twin Shogun Warriors, the Saruzin will carry the Shogun onto the field and will fly around the stage, shooting at the Arwings with greater speed and aggression than its predecessors. Its shield can absorb the Arwings' Laser blasts, but it is relatively fragile, and will break off after taking several hits. The Shogun is much more agile than the Shogun Warriors and therefore harder to hit, but its pilot makes the huge mistake of periodically landing on the deck of the carrier for short periods of time and shooting at the Arwings while standing still. This makes him a much easier target for laser-fire.

Enemy Recon[]

The flagship of the Sector Y offensive is the Saruzin. Aboard is the Shogun warlord, the guardian robot that oversees Andross's galactic fleet. You can easily target the robot when it stands on the ship's deck, so attack it there before it launches itself off the runway.

Enemy Recon[]

Before you duel with the Shogun warlord, you must first defeat a pair of Shogun warriors. The robotic duo, which is worth a total of eight hit points, bullishly charges you and assails you with pistol fire. The warlords's combat tactics are similar, but its strong armor, protective shield and agile manoeuvres make it a far fiercer foe.

Gun[]

The warlord is armed with a high powered laser gun. One hit can considerably damage your Arwing, so avoid being an easy target by constantly moving.

Shield[]

The Shogun warlord deflects lasers with its shield. To destroy it, relentlessly blast away at it with your lasers.
