The Sniper Rifle is a powerful default weapon available in Star Fox: Assault. It is equipped with a double magniscope for zooming.

To Zoom in, press the L button, to zoom out, press the X button.
[edit] Strategy
The shots are very powerful laser blasts, but there are lag frames after each of them. Go to a hard to reach, more preferably high up, areas. A single shot can be a one-hit-KO if it hits an opponent's head at just the right angle. This weapon is somewhat useless against vehicles like the Landmaster. In the Story mode, the Sniper Rifle is one of the few weapons capable of taking an Aparoid Shield Generator down in single shot in Aparoid Homeworld. This is useful for not losing your combo if you're trying to get a Gold Medal.
